The Long Goodbye – heading to Bangkok

by Lisa Chiodo

Post image for The Long Goodbye – heading to Bangkok

Well we are leaving for the airport in less than an hour so this is going to have to be brief. It’s been such an emotional week here in Melbourne with all the goodbyes. We have caught up with as many friends and family as possible and I know we missed seeing lots of you so know we send love and hope to see you one day in Italia or when we are next able to get back to Australia.

leaving melbourne sam on plane

My Mum celebrates her 80th this year and I’d love to get back for it so that is my next goal - to start writing and see if I can get published.

I have to apologize my brain is totally fried right now and I can’t concentrate. We are at my Brother in laws and I am on his computer in the lounge with about ten people trying to get this written with kids wanting things and hubby wanting who knows what arrghhh.

So I am going to say ciao for now and I will post when ever it is possible, hope you don’t mind some pics from Bangkok. Thank you so much for your support and interest in our adventures and we send love and celebrate dreams!!

I want our children to have those special memories, and they don’t have to be of far off places but just us as a family taking risks and chasing those dreams wholeheartedly. We are going to go wild when we get to Italia I will have stories and pics galore!!! xxx

We’re crossing our fingers that we can be there too this year but if not it will be the next. I hope I can get to know you in person and hear more of your wonderful adventures. :)

We sometimes missed the fact that the journey began the moment we knew we wanted to travel. It’s from that moment that you are already on your way, enjoy and see you soon x

I never think of us as courageous until we are in the middle of a situation and we have no clue where we are or how we got here! Bangkok has us confused and fascinated at the same time and we love it all. The kids are in awe and talking to everyone, travel is extra special seen through the eyes of children xxx

I am so excited for you. I can’t wait to hear about your adventures in Italy and most defiantly would love to see pictures from Bangkok. Maybe one day we will meet in person when we visit Italy. (one of the places on my list) Until then, have an amazing journey. Your babies look so happy and excited.

Jackie you would love Bangkok it is a totally confusing riot of color and movement….everybody is doing something and all at the same time. I know we’ll meet up in Italy, be sure to put a pic on your fridge and keep moving toward your dreams…sending love lisa x

That long awaited day finally did come around and here we are in Bangkok at last. The kids are overwhelmed with so many changes in such a short time and love the food and Luca is bouncing up to everyone giving them a big smile and ‘Hi’ so he is very popular. x

We’ve been taking lots of photos in Bangkok so will share some, it is such a mysterious place and we see only the surface. I’d love to stay and really get to know this country and her people. x

Lisa, It’s been awhile since I’ve written but I have been following your “odyssey” and now you are on the way to Italy! I might know a little bit about what you are feeling….all the hard work and years of planning, ups and downs. You are finally realizing you and your family’s dream and I am proud of you. Benvenuti!

Yes you certainly know the feeling Toni, it’s hard to put into words and I often feel ungrateful if I feel overwhelmed with it all. thanks for that it means so much I rarely pat myself on the back LOL xxx

Your family looks so adorable–excited and apprehensive at the same time. I’m sure it’s hard to leave your mom and your friends, but no doubt you’ll soon be inundated with visitors! Happy trails & ben arrivati.
