Borgata Malpertus Restoration
About the Project
The Borgata Malpertus Restoration project is made up of a large group of stone houses nestled between the river Pellice below and the Alps above.
A number of original families still live full time in the Borgata.
Many of the buildings are in need of repair, some are crumbling.
- To bring the Borgata back to it’s original state as closely as possible.
- To retain the medieval feel, look and structures of the Borgata.
- Create a connection with a simpler life.
- Incorporate original fixtures: timber beams, replace missing rock roof, stone floors.
Borgata Malpertus Restoration Project is located in the comune of Bobbio Pellice in the Province of Turin, Piedmont Italy. It sits on the border of France at the end of the Val Pellice.
Authentically restoring part of a 16th Century Borgata in Piedmont was always going to be a challenge.
