I have spent the majority of my working life involved with color. It’s also been part of my love of art, design and photography. So when my dear friend Lisa from New Life on the Road nominated me for the latest photo competition from TravelSupermarket called Capture the Colour I saw it as the perfect chance to share some of my favorite photographs.
In order to participate, head to the Capture the Colour Photoblogging contest page, read the rules and publish your own post including 5 different travel photos representing each color (red, white, blue, yellow and green).
Blue
I love this image taken by my husband Salvatore, he captured perfectly the spirit of the Colosseum in Rome. He has an artists eye for detail and patience to wait for just the right moment. While I wandered with the children it was his turn to wander with the camera arranging to meet us at “the big cross”. The light was just right and the silhouette caught his eye as tourists hustled and bustled about. A moment of stillness and contemplation.
Yellow
The Cinque Terre holds many delights, many subtle touches that talk of love.
Red
Tiny doors abound in Italy, a tiny door for a tiny girl.
White
There are no whiter sheets than those blowing freely in the wind, taken at Portofino.
Green
The view from the window of our Italian farmhouse Borga Nari, this tiny house across the valley called us to explore.
Now it is my privilege to nominate 5 other travel bloggers to take part.
I nominate:
Marie ~ Italy to Los Angeles and Back
Francesca ~ Postcard Pictures
May ~ With Love from Lohr
Cathy ~ An Italophile
Anna ~ Beautiful Liguria

Cathy you are most welcome, I would have nominated everyone but knew that in our circles everyone would get nominated by one of us. I love that pic of Carina in the doorway she is just so tiny and looks so gleeful to have found a door exactly made for her. Look forward to seeing what you select for your own post. xx
I love tiny doors and the sheets are just wonderful.

How could I go wrong with such a great Italian combination! I would never bring my sheets in if they looked this good LOL! xx
Such beautiful colors.
Love that limoncello in those pretty bottles.

Aren’t they beautiful, the one thing we quickly found out traveling in a camper is that there is not much room to collect souvenirs otherwise one would have make it home in my luggage. x
Hi Lisa – I have just posted my Capture the Colour blog. Thank you and good luck. Fxx

Lisa — you are a fantastic photographer — each photo captures something different and beautiful about Italy- it’s history (colosseum), it’s religion (the cross, the madonna), it’s people and how they live (the sheets, the old farmhouse), but I think my favorite is your daughter with the the colorful limoncello and other liqueur bottles. Lovely.
Thanks so much Trisha, It is a passion of mine I must admit. My favorite also is the one of Carina, she just seemed to capture the essence of her Italianess….it runs in her blood and was perfectly evident in Italia. She is impossibly beautiful and sooo Italian.
xxx lisa
